Welcome to the web site of Swillington Village Council. We hope that there is something of interest to you within its pages. Swillington is a lovely village on the outskirts of Leeds. It was, many years ago a mining village but with the closure of the Primrose Hill Colliery this era of its history ended.
A semi-rural community Swillington has a lot to offer, green spaces and rural walks and a low crime rate, yet all the amenities of the thriving city of Leeds within easy reach. The Parish Council meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30 at the Village Hall on Church Lane. Please come along and watch democracy in action.
If you fancy growing your own fruit and vegetables and enjoying the great outdoors please contact us as we currently have spare allotments.
We update our pages regularly to keep the community informed but if you feel that we could improve then please contact us to let us know.
The Village Council hopes that its residents are keeping safe and well during these unprecedented times.
